South Lake Landing is an easy 22 miles west of Bishop, CA sitting at 9,768 feet of elevation. The picturesque 170 surface acre South Lake is a reservoir located in the Bishop Creek Recreation Area within Inyo National Forest. The landing operates a fleet of motorboats , pontoon boats, and tandem kayaks during the summer and fall seasons. There is also a shop that is stocked with fishing tackle, snacks, beverages, sundries and clothing. Our friendly staff can help you with renting a fishing boat and outfitting you with all of the necessary to catch big trout or just spend a lazy day relaxing on the pontoon boat. SLK Landing typically operates from early June thru mid October and is closed during the winter.
